TalkTalk down updates — Hundreds of users report faults with phone lines as provider apologises for ‘loss of service’
TALKTALK went down for hundreds across the UK this morning.
According to DownDetector, over 500 users were reporting issues with the broadband provider.
The issues with the provider has now been resolved.
TalkTalk have said: "The issue affecting customers across multiple regions has now been resolved. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused during this time."

This morning's issue affecting phone lines across the UK has now been resolved.
Issues on the rise
Issues are still on the rise with TalkTalk services.
According to DownDetector, the number of reported issues have now exceeded 500.
Scheduled maintenance will take place tomorrow
Scheduled maintenance will take place tomorrow morning in York.
Customers in the area could face issues with their service from midnight to 6am.
What problems are being reported?
The main issues with TalkTalk are currently related to phone lines.
According to DownDetector, 50% of reported issues are connected to Phone lines and 46% of faults are related to internet connection.
Can I get compensation for an outage?
You might be entitled to compensation if you have issues with your internet or mobile phone services.
Your first step should be to report the outage to your provider.
Compensation should be allocated without you having to apply under the Automatic Compensation Scheme.
Broadband and phone providers are signed up to this, and under it their customers can get money back when things goes wrong.
How much you get will vary depending on the situation, but internet firms usually pay out £8 for each full day that broadband or phone services are not repaired after two full days of no service.
Users vent frustration on social media
Many TalkTalk users have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent their frustration with today's outage.
One customer moaned: "My phone line isn’t working, your online chat isn’t working and I can’t get through to you on the ‘phone either…"
A second wrote: "Hi TalkTalk my phoneline has just stopped working! When I make outbound calls, all calls are engaged. When someone try’s to ring me it’s a dead line. I need my phoneline. HELP!!!"
How do I check the status of TalkTalk broadband?
TalkTalk customers can look online or log into their account, where the provider will help run tests to see if the service in their area is down.
Customers can also contact TalkTalk directly on its helpline on 0345 172 0088 to check what has happened.
Its worth checking on social media to see if TalkTalk has communicated about widespread service loss or if other customers are having similar issues to you.

Today's phone line outage is linked to a" loss of data and voice services in multiple regions."

TalkTalk have said: "We're aware that customers across multiple regions are currently experiencing a loss of service.
"We'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and assure you that our engineers are working to restore service as a priority."
