Supermarket giant Asda is now selling its own-brand compact 1.8l slow cooker for just £10, reduced from £15.

The deal was spotted by a bargain hunter who shared it on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

Fellow bargain hunters were quick to comment, with one writing: ";Well worth it."

Another said: "I love it! You don't always need a big one."

While the slow cooker is listed online, it isn't available to order so you'll have to visit your local store if you want to pick one up.

You can find your nearest Asda by using the store locator tool on its website.

Many social media users rushed to tag their friends to let them know about the bargain.

We checked online to see if we could see a slow cooker on sale for £10 or less, but we couldn't spot one.

Robert Dyas is selling a Swan slow cooker for £14.99, but it's a little smaller than the Asda appliance at 1.5l.

How much do slow cookers cost to run?

Slow cookers can be a great investment as they are easy to use and can be left alone to run.

They're also very energy-efficient and can cut down your bills.

Daewoo claims its slow cookers could save you up to 87.5% compared to cooking with a conventional oven.

To work out the cost of making your meal, you'll need to do this equation: cost = power (kilowatt) x cost of one kWh (pence) x the length of time (just the one off meal, or over a week or month.)

For example, the Daewoo slow cooker would cost around 38p to run for eight hours.

Make sure you don't leave your slow cooker running longer than necessary to maximise your savings.

Put it onto the lowest heat setting if you're going out as it will use less energy while cooking over a longer period of time.
