RED ALERT: Chateau Mouton Rothschild red wine is a favourite of David Beckham and featured in his recent Instagram pictures.

But at around £3,000 a bottle, the tipple is not exactly budget-friendly.

Sam Caporn, also known as The Mistress of Wine, reveals shoppers can get a touch of Beckham glamour for less with Aldi’s Pierre Jaurant Bordeaux for £5.29.

She says: “Both of these wines are clarets from the Bordeaux region, made from blends of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and pair beautifully with red meat such as lamb, roast beef or game.”

ROSE-YAY: This is no longer only a summer drink.

Whispering Angel rosé has been growing in popularity over the past five years.

Pick up a bottle for £21 at Sainsbury’s or try the Tesco Finest Provence rosé for similar notes of strawberries and redcurrants.

Usually £10 a bottle, it is now £9 for Clubcard customers.

A BIT OF ALL WHITE: White wine is having a boom, overtaking sales of red lately.

If you love the popular Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc for £29.99 at majestic.co.uk, there is a great dupe you should try at Lidl.

The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Awatere Valley is £8.29.

LET’S GET FIZZICAL: Toast the new month with a bottle of Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut champagne, down from £42 to £36 at Asda.

Or look for the supermarket’s own-brand Cremant de Bourgogne Brut NV for £13.

It is said to be very similar — and is much less than half the price.

RAISE A GLASS: Serve your drinks in a designer-inspired wine glass.

A set of four much-loved Luigi Bormioli glasses will set you back £42 at M&S.

But look for the similar Dyrgrip range at Ikea, £2.50 per glass.
