CADBURY has relaunched an iconic chocolate – but it might not look the same as you remember it.

Easter has come early for some as a former favourite chocolate treat - Cadbury's Caramilk - has been stocked in supermarkets just in time for the choc-feasting holiday.

Fanatics were heartbroken when Nestle's Caramac bar was discontinued due to a lack of sales - and struggled to find a fitting dupe to match the treat.

The iconic flavour came into play in the late 1950s with other variations making their way onto shop shelves too including a limited edition Caramac KitKat bar and Caramac buttons.

Caramac bars are made from condensed milk, butter, various flavourings and sugar.

Despite often sharing the shelves with chocolate bars, and coming in the form of one, they do not contain any cocoa.

Cadbury quickly came out with their own Caramilk spin-off, sending shoppers mad when they heard the news.

We tested Caramac dupes and found that Cadbury's Camamilk bar was a close second to the iconic Caramac original.

This Cadbury bar is creamy and chunky plus it melts nicely in your mouth.

And now, the age-old cocoa company has done it again by releasing the treat in a brand new egg-shaped form, ready to be copped by sweet-toothed Brits now.

The news was posted on Facebook group New Foods UK.

On the post, they said: "New Cadbury Caramilk Chocolate Easter Egg now available at Tesco."

Fans jumped straight into the comments section of the post, which is now littered with hundreds of messages from fans sharing their joy at the news.

One commenter said: "What a great flavour they made now the real one has gone."

And a second said: "I like this Chocolate,  it’s got its own unique taste and it’s yum."

And a third chimed in with: "I need one of these."

Punters can get their hands on the egg for £3 on Tesco's website, and will surely be stocking up in case they go missing from shelves in the future.

However, health-conscious fans who want to keep an eye on calories over the indulging period may want to take a breath before devouring one, as downing the whole treat at once will cost half of your daily calorie intake.

It's not the only treat chocolate lovers can look forward to in the coming weeks after it was reported that a brand new orange-flavoured Cadbury's Mini Egg range will hit stores in time for Easter.

Posted on the same group at the Caramilk egg, one person commented: "I need at least 100 bags of these."

It is however worth trying your best not to overdo it in March, as this expert warns Brits of the dangers of over-eating chocolate in the Easter window.

If you're still hung up on the Caramac bar there may still be some available in supermarkets.

Sainsbury's and Iceland had some stocked in November last year.

However, one shopper went as far as to fill a whole conveyor belt worth of the chocolates so you may need to go on a little chocolate hunt to find one.
