Bargain high street chain to close ALL stores for one day to give staff a break
A BARGAIN high street chain has announced its stores will remain closed for an extra day over Christmas to give its staff a break.
Wilko has made the late decision to not open its stores on Boxing Day to offer all store teams an additional day off.
Now under the ownership of The Range, the retail chain company will be closing its only stores in Luton, Plymouth and Exeter on December 25th and 26th.
They are all set to re-open on Wednesday, December 27.
An was made via Facebook on Thursday.
It read: "Our Luton, Plymouth and Exeter stores will be closed this Boxing Day to offer all our store teams an additional day off.

"We'll be closed 25th-26th to give all team members a well-earned break to spend with friends and family.
"Don't turn up and be disappointed! And if there are some wilko bits you need (or maybe just want) we're always here for you on wilko.com."
Despite the announcement being made just five days ahead of Boxing Day, it has been met with plenty of approval by shoppers.
With it being unusual to see stores shut on Boxing Day as well as Christmas Day, many were pleased to see staff were being put first.

Another said: "Good, all shops should."
A third suggested: "More stores should do this, honestly make it 27th as well, any decent human can wait three days."
The Range will also be pulling down the shutters on all of its shops on the same dates to reward its staff with a well-deserved break.
And Wilko isn't the only budget retailer to be closing its doors for at least two days this Christmas.
Aldi is closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year to allow its staff to spend time with friends and family.
A major wine retailer is also closing more than 200 stores for an extra day over the festive period as a thank you to its "incredible" staff.
Majestic is giving all 1,600 colleagues January 2 off on top of Boxing Day and New Year's Day this year.
Retailers' opening hours do vary due to bank holidays so it's always worth checking for each specific branch.
