Inside UK’s most viewed homes on Zoopla – £25k terrace, 2-bed overlooking Leyton Orient and £36.5m London mansion

SOME of the most viewed UK homes this year have been revealed by Zoopla with properties ranging from a terrace costing just £25,000 to £36.5million London mansion.

The property website said people were being more “realistic” in their searches with seven out of 10 of the top 10 most viewed properties being affordable family homes, or doer-uppers.

Only three homes on the list are multi-million pound properties.

The property market has been hit by the cost of living crisis, coupled with rising interest rates as the Government attempts to head off inflation.

The Bank of England has hiked the interest base rate from 0.1 per cent to 5.25 per cent, meaning many homeowners have seen their mortgage payments shoot up.

This has been particularly bad news for first time buyers with buying power hit by up to 20 per cent across the UK, according to .

Two-bed flat, East London £350,000

This two-bedroom flat no doubt appealed to football fans as its balcony gave potential homeowners a great view overlooking the pitch at Leyton Orient’s football ground.

Inside the East London property there was a spacious open-plan living area which included a modern-looking kitchen with white cabinets.

There was also a separate dining area.

One of the bedrooms was being used by a young child as it was painted in a bright pink colour.

The property was marketed by Paul Takhar estate agents with an asking price of £350,000.

Two-bed terrace house, Liverpool £25,000

This two-bedroom terrace in Roxburgh Street, Liverpool, was up for auction for the knock-down guide price of just £25,000.

Pictures showed though that any potential owner would have a job on their hands clearing out the rubbish.

While the guide price may have been very low, properties at auction can sell for a lot more than the original asking price.

Two-bed flat, North London £275,000

The two-bed flat in North London’s Ballards Lane sat above a commercial property on the ground floor.

It was being sold at auction by Auction House London who warned that it had previously been used to grow cannabis and was in need of being completely renovated.

It said: “The property has been recently used to grow cannabis and requires a program of refurbishment.”

While that might have put some people off, the flat did also have planning permission to convert the loft and flat into two separate one-bedroom flats, which could be a money-spinner for any potential buyer.

Five-bed detached house, North Yorkshire £300,000

This Grade II listed property in the market town of Northallerton dates back to the late 17th century.

While the asking price was a relatively low £300,000 any buyer would need a lot of spare cash too as it was in need of “complete renovation”.

For your money though it did come with gardens and 1.2 acres of land.

The sale was handled by Northallerton estate agency.

Three-bed house, Thurnscoe, Rotherham £130,000

The town house in the popular village of Thurnscoe had been newly refurbished before going on the market for between £130-140,000.

For their money, any buyer got off-road parking, a large rear garden and the heart of the village just a short walk away.

It was well located for road or rail to Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield while also being within easy reach of the A1 and M1.

It was marketed by Hunters.

Nine-bed house, Radlett, Hertfordshire £15m

This picturesque property came with its own servants’ quarters and sat in 1.2 acres of landscaped gardens.

If that wasn’t enough, there’s a wine vault and its own state-of-the-art cinema… and a gym and sauna room.

There’s also enough space for 10 cars.

Six-bed town house, London £36.5m

This stunning six-bed property in Kensington, West London, was described as an “architectural masterpiece”.

For the eye-watering asking price any potential buyer gets a gym, cinema and a swimming pool.

There’s also a one-bed accommodation for staff.

The property was marketed by Sothebys Reality UK.

Eight-bed detached house, London £32.5m

The vast property in Tregunter Road, south-west London pretty much provided everything a homeowner would every need – as long as you could afford the hefty asking price.

The house in Chelsea came with its own cinema, a wine cellar, a pool house, an indoor swimming pool, staff accommodation, gym and sauna facilities and if you didn’t fancy walking up or down the stairs, there’s lift.

The property was on the market with Beauchamp Estates.

Three-bed semi-detached house, Tyne & Wear £255,000

The property in South Shields was described as a “fantastic” family home.

It was well located being near to some local shops as well as the coast.

The semi-detached house also had a decent sized garden complete with a gazebo and a hot tub area.

Three-bed semi-detached house, Bury £225,000

The three-bed property was priced for a quick sale and located in a convenient area for local shops and transport links.

A conservatory had recently been added to the back of the house with the back garden also having a decking area and shed.
