Asda to open 34 new stores before Christmas – see the full list of locations and if one is near you
ASDA is opening 34 new stores before Christmas - is one coming to a town near you?
Three standalone Asda Express sites already opened this week in Manchester, Salford and Romford.
Asda has announced that it will be adding a host of new stores to its estate in the coming weeks, with the opening of 34 Asda Express stores before Christmas.
Eight of these stores, including the retailer’s 200th Asda Express site will open its doors today.
The announcement comes as the retailer continues its rapid rollout of Co-op and EG Group petrol forecourt conversions as well as the opening of its standalone stores which saw openings in Manchester, Salford and Romford this week.
Last month, Asda announced that it had completed the acquisition of EG Group’s UK business meaning the retailer will take on hundreds of new convenience stores.

This announcement followed the news that Asda had also kicked off its program to convert 116 convenience Co-op petrol stations to its Asda Express convenience brand.
The newly converted Asda Express stores stock up to 3,000 branded and own-label products including ‘top up’ shops for essential items such as milk and bread.
An Asda spokesperson said: "This acceleration into convenience plays a key role in our ambition to grow our share and become the number two supermarket in the UK.
"We look forward to bringing Asda’s great value fuel and groceries to more communities across the UK as we continue our rollout in the coming months."

With so many retailers leaving towns and high streets, it gives a much-needed boost to shoppers when new stores open.
Asda is not the only retailer that is looking to expand, despite the cost of living crisis making it tough for some.
One of the big surprises for shoppers in recent weeks has been the return of Wilko to the high street.
The much-loved discounter tumbled into administration in August when it failed to find a buyer for the entire business.
Since then other retailers swooped in to take over some ex-Wilko stores and the Range bought the rights to the website and brand.
Poundland owners Pepco bought up to 71 locations and set to work opening up the stores under the Poundland name.
B&M also purchased 51 stores, although the retailer is yet to confirm which branches are included in the deal.
Then in a surprise move, after relaunching the discounters website, The Range gave Wilko fans an early Christmas present by opening up two new concept stores.
The stores opened up in Plymouth and Exeter just last week and another is set to open in Luton on December 7.

Also, The Sun recently revealed discount retailer Costco is expanding in the UK and is planning to open 14 more warehouses over the next two years.
Clothing retailer Bonmarche is also set to open at least seven new stores after filing for administration in 2019, and The White Company is also expanding into new locations.
