Based on the traditional Crunchie bar, the nuggets were chunks of honeycomb dipped in milk chocolate.

The original Crunchie bar was launched in the UK in 1929 and over the years there have been a number of variations and limited editions sold including a Tango Orange version as well as lemonade and mint varieties.

Hardcore fans of the Crunchie Nuggets were devastated to learn that they have now been discontinued.

One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Why why why on earth would you discontinue crunchy nuggets” and added a couple of crying emojis for good measure.

Cadbury’s responded to the message, explaining: “Sorry about this Stacey! Peoples' tastes change from time to time, so we refresh our range to cater for everyone.”

Another said the nuggets were far better than the Crunchie Rocks currently available, saying: “Crunchie Rocks are so disappointing compared to Crunchie Nuggets. The chocolate to honeycomb ratio is all wrong. Please bring back the Nuggets.”

While the Crunchie Nuggets were discontinued some time ago, fans still have a soft spot for the choccy treats and want them brought back.

Writing on the social media site, one person summed things up: “I miss the Crunchie Nuggets.”
