Crisp connoisseurs had recently noticed the flavour's absence from supermarket shelves.

And Walkers officially confirmed it has scrapped the sharing snacks on Twitter/X last week.

A fan tweeted: "@walkers_crisps hello have you stopped doing the peking spare rib sensations? Cannot find them anywhere."

Walkers' admin replied: "We're sorry to break it to you Becky, we're not making this flavour anymore."

The user responded: "Sad to see them go, the only sort of snack that flavour which didn't have MSG.

"And I really appreciate that you don't use it. Any chance of some random bags left over which I can buy please?"

The crisp company added: "Sorry Becky, this flavour was discontinued last year, so we no longer have any packs.

"We'll certainly take your comments on board, as we're always eager to hear which of our flavours people enjoy the most."

Devastated fans paid tribute to the crisp flavour on social media.

One said: "@walkers_crisps please don't tell me you've discontinued the peking spare rib crackers?

"Can't find them in any shops and they were my absolute fave."

Another said: "Got none loitering around a warehouse anywhere? My favourite crisps they were."

It comes after the snack maker told customers that it's no longer making a favourite Quavers flavour that only returned two years ago.

Walkers also confirmed its Worcester sauce flavour crisps is "no longer part of our range" leaving shoppers miffed.

Plus the beef and onion flavour was discontinued last year.

The crisp brand also revealed that it's made a major change to the recipe of its Thai Sweet Chilli Sensations - and fans are not happy about it.
