Crisp connoisseurs noticed the flavour doesn't taste quite the same as it used to, and one put their queries to the company.

Mairead wrote on Twitter/X: "Why in God's name has the recipe for Thai Sweet Chilli sensations been changed?!

"You had already created perfection in crisp form.

"This new recipe is not the one!"

Walkers admitted it had altered the recipe of the crisp favourite.

They replied: "Hi Maireed. We recently updated the recipe to give the flavour a little more punch.

"We’re sorry to hear you’re not a fan but we appreciate you letting us know what you think!"

But Mairead wasn't happy with the brand's response.

She hit back: "Unfortunately that punch tastes like chicken.";

And she wasn't the only one unhappy with Walkers' change.

Another fan of the salty snack, Amy, raged: "Wtf have you done?

"The new ones are basically plain???"

It comes just weeks after Walkers axed a hugely popular crisp flavour for good.

The brand told fans, much to their dismay, that it had stopped making the Worcester Sauce flavour.

And even more recently it took an equally popular flavour off  supermarket shelves.

Katie Stark wrote to Walkers Crisps and asked: "Have you stopped making Beef and Onion Crisps?"

"Hi Katie," Walkers wrote back, "sorry to say Beef & Onion was discontinued last year".
