Star Wars C-3PO actor auctioning film memorabilia including the droid’s gold helmet for £1million
STAR Wars C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels is auctioning his memorabilia from the films — with the droid’s gold helmet tipped to fetch up to £1million.
Anthony, who featured in all nine films of the main saga plus spin-offs, is selling almost 200 items including scripts, props and costumes.
C-3PO’s helmet which he wore in the first film in 1977 with droid pal R2-D2 will be the biggest money-maker.
Also among the lots are pairs of C-3PO’s hands and feet, both estimated to go for up to £30,000, and two of the droid’s fingers for £10,000.
Anthony, 77, said he was looking forward to finding a good home for the treasures.
He said: “I realised I had these items and they’re not unloved but they are unlooked at.

"We don’t have them crowding the sitting room.
"Will I feel sad to part with them? No. I will enjoy the fact people will cherish and display them.”
Hertfordshire-based auctioneers Propstore began selling his lots, including the helmet, late last night.
Bidding was fierce for other film memborabilia at the sale, with Harrison Ford’s bullwhip from Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom going for £230,000.
