Martin Lewis shares ‘easy peasy’ two minute move to get up to £180 free cash – and it’s not switching bank accounts
MARTIN Lewis has revealed how consumers can receive up to £180 of free cash per year by spending just two minutes of their time on an "easy peasy" move.
Martin, founder of Money Saving Expert website, has told customers how they can earn £180 per year from buying things in shops.
Martin urged people to spend just "two minutes" signing up for the app-only Chase current account.
Customers then use their phones to pay for goods and services, and should make £15 per month. The comes to £180 per year.
Speaking on his BBC podcast, Martin said that by spending just a couple of minutes signing up for the app customers could earn £180 per year. He said it was "easy peasy" to sign up for the card.
The consumer rights champion said it had other benefits, and was the "cheapest for spending overseas."
Martin recently urged customers to think about signing up for a new HSBC account to receive £205 of free cash.
The deal from HSBC allows you to claim the £205 by setting up an HSBC Advance or Premier account. Only new customers will receive the £205.
Martin posted: "Right now there’s a bank that will pay you for opening an account, but you don’t need to use its switching service.
“You don’t need to switch to it so you can keep your old bank and your normal banking systems up and running.
“And you can effectively just open this to get the free cash.”
Other high street banks also have similar cash offers right now. Customers switching to a NatWest Reward or RBS Reward current account can pick up a £200 switching bonus.
But you must switch from a different bank, deposit £1,250 into your account and log into the mobile banking app within 60 days.
On meeting these requirements you'll receive the £200 free cash after seven calendar days.
Customers switching to a TSB Spend and Save or Spend and Save Plus current account can get a £200 switching bonus.
Customers get the first amount worth £125 by September 30 after setting up a minimum of two direct debits, using their debit card at least once and logging into internet banking.
The additional £75 is then paid into new accounts by March 31, 2024, but only if you have paid at least £500 into the account each month and have made five debit card and two direct debit payments each month.
Customers signing up for a First Direct 1st Account can get £175 in free cash. You have to deposit £1,000 within three months of opening the account though.
