Four ways your kids can make money in the run-up to the festive season

Today's Deal of the Day saves a staggering £130

KIDS can earn their own pocket money this winter by becoming mini moguls.

A quarter of youngsters want to be their own boss, according to children’s money app GoHenry.

So start early and ignite their inner entrepreneur with these money-making ideas . . .

LEAF THEM TO IT: Now the weather has turned, budding gardeners can rake in the cash as leaf collectors.

Get your youngster to perfect their garden-tidying skills and then offer their services out to your friends and neighbours.

They can design a simple flyer online which they can print out for potential customers — the personal touch makes all the difference.

YOUNG WRAPPERS: Teens with time on their hands can perfect their gift-wrapping technique by watching TikTok and YouTube videos.

Then they can offer their skills to time-poor present-givers in the run-up to Christmas.

Plenty of people will pay someone to do this unloved task, so to showcase your youngster’s skills, post snaps of their handiwork on local WhatsApp or Facebook groups offering their expertise.

SECOND-HAND SAVINGS: Selling unwanted clothes, books and gifts online can earn youngsters some spare cash.

According to GoHenry, a quarter of kids are now earning from selling things on online marketplaces such as Etsy, eBay, Depop and Vinted.

Researching the best sites and how to max their price will be right up their street, then you can be on hand to help them sell their stuff.

Get the timing right and their cast-offs could become someone else’s treasures at this time of year.

DOGS’ BODIES: Families planning a trip away towards the end of the year may need someone to take care of their pets.

Kids can offer to feed cats, rabbits or goldfish, and provide company for animals.

Another great little earner is to start a baking business making healthy dog treats.

Wrap them and add a festive ribbon to max those profits.
