Fans of the brand were devastated when the retailer disappeared from the high street in April.

Over the years the brand developed a cult following from people who loved indulging in its brightly coloured quirky notebooks, diaries, cards and gift wrap.

With everything from pop-up cards to pink feathery pens, it was a stationary lover's dream.

But sadly the loyalty of shoppers could not keep the retail giant afloat and it fell into administration in February after failing to find a buyer.

This led to the closure of all of its 134 shops including concessions stands in Next and Selfridges, with 900 job losses.

But shoppers will be pleased to know that it is being resurrected just in time for the festive season.

Supermarket giant Tesco bought the rights to the brand and will be relaunching it soon in stores and online just in time for Christmas.

The exact dates and locations of the openings are yet to be confirmed.

A spokesperson for Tesco said: "Having acquired the Paperchase brand back in January, we look forward to bringing this well-loved name to Tesco and are excited to launch a range of Paperchase products in selected stores and online in the coming weeks."

Meanwhile, on social media "first glimpse" pictures have been appearing with shoppers guessing where the locations might be.

One person said: "Is there any news on which stores they will be in as there has been a weird walled-off section at Tesco Yardley in Birmingham for a number of months?"

While another added: "Fingers crossed it comes soon, we've had the same wrapping paper for a few years and I was gutted."

A third commented: "Can you imagine how happy this makes me!"

Paperchase is one of the many high-street retailers that have failed to keep a presence on the high street in recent months.

The rising cost of living has left shoppers thinking twice before spending their hard-earned cash.

Despite best efforts, even the big-name retailers are struggling to tempt shoppers through the doors.

Popular discounter Wilko fell into administration in August after failing to find a buyer for the entire business.

The last of the retailer's shops closed just weeks ago as thousands of workers were left without jobs.

Some Wilko stores have been snapped up by rival discounter B&M as part of a £13million deal.

Poundland also bought out 71 Wilko stores and has already started to open up some locations.

The Range bought up the Wilko brand name and website in a £5million deal and customers are now able to shop online.

Fashion chain M&Co fell into administration in late 2022 and saw the closure of 170 shops this April.

However, in a surprise turnaround Yours Clothing, which bought out the brand name has since announced that it is planning to open 50 physical stores over the next two years.

Retail giant Marks and Spencer also recently confirmed that it will shut one of its branches for good this October, leaving shoppers furious.
