Five ways to refresh your room on a budget with these home makeover hacks
AS the nights draw in, create a cosy haven by giving your pad a makeover.
Revamping your home’s style needn’t cost a fortune.
Here are some easy and cheap changes to improve your living space . . .
SWITCH IT UP: Changing the arrangement of furniture is a free and simple way to refresh your home, according to Stella Pozzi, co-founder of InteriorNet.
She explains: “By rethinking your layout you can alter the flow and feel of a room.
“You can do this with your existing furniture and swap in items from different rooms.”

When changing your room, Stella recommends positioning large items, such as sofas, first — and remember, they don’t need to be against a wall.
DECLUTTER: “There is nothing worse than walking into a home with shoes, coats, bags and general clutter greeting you,” says Stella.
“Getting rid of things you no longer use — and putting everything in its place — will immediately lift the space.”
GO TO THE PANEL: Try wall panels for a new look. Stella says: “In the past panels have been associated with traditional homes but they are a great way to add texture and elevate your space.

“Places like Wickes provide wall panel kits that start from £19.”
STAND OUT: Think about re-inventing a piece of furniture to create something unique that makes a statement.
Stella says: “Bright paint can change the entire look of a traditional or mid-century piece, making it fun and bold.
“If you don’t feel confident starting with a piece of furniture, experiment with mirror frames, table legs, chair frames and shelves.”
FEATURE WALL: If you have a bare wall, filling it with your favourite pictures, artwork or photos is simple and will showcase your personality.
Play around with different layouts before hammering in nails.
