Five cheap and tasty recipes to make pumpkin-spiced goodies for autumn
IT’S autumn – so pumpkin-spiced goodies are back to take over our tastebuds.
Try swapping store-bought sweet and spicy treats for these tasty recipes and make your home smell incredible at the same time . . .
SPICE TIME: First, make your own pumpkin spice using 3 tbsp of ground cinnamon, 2 tsp of ground ginger, 2 tsp nutmeg and 1½ tsp of ground allspice. Keep it in an airtight jar and you can add it to the recipes below.
LATTE LOVE: Skip spending on cafe coffee and make your own pumpkin-spiced latte by heating a cup of milk with a shot of espresso, 1 tsp of sugar and ½ tsp of your spice mix in a saucepan.
Simmer — don’t boil — and stir occasionally before pouring into a mug and sprinkling a dash of spice on top. Skip the espresso and use hot chocolate for kids.
CAKE A BITE: Swap carrot cake for an autumn pumpkin-spiced bake instead.
