Martin had urged Brits to check whether they could lock into their insurance bills for a year.

He said this was a way of avoiding sudden, unexpected price hikes and save them £100s.

The expert had warned that prices could be going up a whopping 41 per cent and told Brits to try an online comparing tool to see if they could save some cash.

Ruth said she had seen her car insurance was going up by around £200, so she checked out Martin's advice.
