Tesco makes major change to F&F clothing range and it works out CHEAPER for shoppers

TESCO is making a major change to its F&F clothing range - and it works out cheaper for shoppers.

The supermarket will now cover the cost of VAT on its range of period pants.

Other period products have been exempt from the 20 per cent tax since 2021.

A three-pack of F&F period pants has now been slashed from £18 to £14.40 - and a single pack has been reduced from £7.50 to £6.

Tesco's Christine Heffernan said: "We know that the cost of buying essential period products can be a real struggle for many people.

"We want to do our bit to help by covering the cost of VAT on period pants, helping to make this more sustainable option more affordable for customers.

"We were the first retailer to cover the cost of VAT on period products in 2017.

"We’re proud to be helping customers again by covering the cost of VAT on period pants now, to make them that bit more affordable."

Tesco has joined the Say Pants To The Tax campaign, which is asking the government to reclassify period pants as period products, not garments - so they are exempt from VAT.

High street rival Marks & Spencer also backed the campaign in a letter to Financial Secretary Victoria Atkins earlier this month.

Sainsbury's, John Lewis, Primark and Waitrose have also joined the campaign.

Aldi has issued a message to all shoppers with an account after a major change to shopping.
