Take care of your skin for less with these four savvy skincare tips
WINTER can be tough on your skin, leaving it dry, chapped and tight.
But you don’t need pricey lotions to look after your face.
Here’s how you can keep your complexion soft and supple without breaking the bank . . .
LESS IS MORE: Not only does it cost you more but using lots of different products on your skin is not beneficial, according to Dr Natalia Spierings, consultant dermatologist and author of book Skintelligent.
She says: “You can certainly cause problems by using too many skincare products.
"You don’t need to buy a separate product to use around your eyes.

"Just use your regular moisturiser for this area — eye creams are a scam.”
CLEAN UP: Make sure you take off make-up every evening.
And baby oil makes a cheap remover, Natalia says.

There’s also no need to use a product that costs more than £5.
MOISTURISE: In colder months, it is especially important to protect your skin from the elements with moisturiser.
But you don’t need to buy into the promises of an expensive brand — a tub of Vaseline will do the trick.
Natalia says: “It’s the best moisturiser on the market, also the cheapest, it doesn’t clog pores or cause pimples.”
A 50ml tub costs £1.50 from Tesco.
Then apply a thin layer at night and you will wake up to hydrated skin.
SUN PROTECTION: Even in winter, it’s still important to use SPF to protect skin from sun damage.
Natalia says there are good-quality, low-priced options, such as Altruist.
The brand’s face fluid sunscreen SPF 30 is £8.50 from .
The Simple Triple Protect SPF 30 moisturiser is worth trying, too. It is currently on offer at Morrisons, down from £7 to £3.50.
