High street shoe shop loved by mums closes more locations as shoppers spot huge sale signs in store
A POPULAR high street shoe shop loved by mums has closed more locations with shoppers spotting huge sale signs in store.
Clarks, which has more than 300 stores, has now confirmed it will shut its doors for good in Norwich and Sunderland.
At the Riverside retail park in Norwich, the store's closing down sale offers any additional items at 50 per cent off when a full-price item is bought.
It is understood that the shop is closing due to a rent hike as the building's lease comes to an end.
Meanwhile the Sunderland branch in The Bridges has also pulled the shutters down.
A Clarks spokesperson said: “Clarks confirms its store at The Bridges Shopping Centre, Sunderland, has now closed.

“Customers can continue to shop from our full range of products online and at our nearby Clarks stores in Newcastle, Durham and at our outlet store in Murton.”
Clarks has closed a string of its own stores in the past year including two in Kent, one in Dundee and one in Fareham.
It comes after Clarks announced that it'll pull down the shutters in High Street Inverness before the end of this month.
It'll also shut in Westwood Cross Shopping Centre in Kent in mid-November.

Several Clarks stores closed earlier this year too, with its branch in Fareham Shopping Centre shutting on August 5 and the Dundee store closing on July 25.
Before this, it closed the doors on two stores in Kent in Ashford and Gillingham at the end of 2022.
It is understood that the shop is closing due to a rent hike as the building's lease comes to an end.
A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) was agreed which saw the Clarks family lose overall control of the company.
A CVA allows firms that have run out of cash to look at ways to save the business, such as reducing rent rates with landlords.
Companies often agree to a CVA to avoid insolvency, which can lead to closures or the whole business going bust.
