I scooped £6.7million lotto jackpot – but all I wanted when I won was a cheap Ford Galaxy

A MAN who scooped a £6.7million lotto jackpot says all he wanted when he won was a cheap car.

When pub landlord Dean Hardman chose the winning numbers in November 2006, his first purchase was a humble Ford Galaxy.

Since then, he's been a lot more creative - and generous - with his cash.

He bought a race horse named Stanley Rigby in honour of his grandad.

Dean then ploughed cash into his beloved Bury FC to help buy players and pay wages.

He also set up his step-kids with new homes.

Dean and wife Stella still run The Crown Inn - now dubbed The Lucky Crown Inn - in Heywood, Greater Manchester, and insist the cash hasn't changed them.

The couple have donated thousands of pounds to charity, sponsor up-and-coming local sportsmen and women, and do volunteer work.

Dean said: "We can do what we want, when we want. We like our holidays. I love my race horses, so it's a dream for me.

"You can help people out when they need it; your close family.

"I'd still say I'm happy. You have your ups and downs, like you always do. But yes, I'm happy."

It comes after Frances Connolly, 54, told The Sun all she really dreamed of was a comfy bungalow and a second-hand Jag.

Frances and husband Patrick scooped a whopping £114,969,775.70 and gave away more than half to family, friends and charities.

She said: "I've always loved Jaguars, and I had one for my 40th, which I really loved.

"When I won the Lottery, I thought, 'I'll get that car', but they didn't make them any more, so I settled for a 2017 Jag."
