I’m a Wetherspoons superfan – the best day to visit and save £60 a year
WETHERSPOONS is perfect for a cheap drink or meal - but one superfan has revealed how you could save £60 a year by eating on one specific day.
The pub chain, which runs over 800 boozers across the UK, is known for selling pints for a few quid and bargain food.
But you can save more by using one trick, according to self-confessed Spoon's super fan Nicola Frapwell.
The 32-year-old data manager from West Sussex has been visiting the pubs for years and picked up a few money-saving tips in the process.
And one is opting for the chain's "Club" nights, when it drops prices on certain foods for one day only.
Nicola's favourite option is the Curry night, which runs every Thursday from 11.30am until 11pm.

A main with rice, naan, poppadoms and a soft drink normally costs £8.95, but on Thursdays you can get it for £7.80 - £1.15 cheaper.
Meanwhile, the same meal with an alcoholic drink costs £10.25 normally but £9.10 on Thursdays - the same difference.
It might not seem like a lot, but if you bought the meal deal every week for a year, you'd save yourself £60 overall.
Nicola said: "The curry is really tasty and when you think of a proper Indian I would say it’s the same level of quality.

"The portion size is good as well. It’s affordable, there's lots of different options for the curry. I would really recommend it."
The Fish Fridays is worth a punt as well, Nicola added.
"It's a good portion size and good value for money. You get a big bit of fish."
How else to save money at Wetherspoons
It's not just the Club nights where you can make some decent savings, Nicola said.
Wetherspoons also offers customers free refills on hot drinks, so you can set up a stool and chat away without having to fork out for the cost of a coffee or tea more than once.
The offer is just for purchases on coffee and tea and excludes takeaway, but is available seven days a week.
Nicola said: "It's a really good option for older people that perhaps are a bit lonely.
"They can catch up with local punters, have a coffee and be in there all afternoon."
The price for the free refill option varies depending on what Spoon's boozer you go to, but costs around 99p.
That means if you went for that option and had three hot drinks, you're saving £2 each trip.
It might not seem like a lot, but if you did that once a week, you'd save over £100 across 12 months.
Meanwhile, Nicola said, if you're the type, short drinks are well worth your money.
You can choose from Beefeater, Gordons, Sailor Jerry's and Bombay Sapphire brands and prices start from £2-£3 for a single.
If you want to, you can top it up to a double and Nicola said you'll only pay around a quid extra on top too.
She said: "Wetherspoons is offering more premium brands nowadays so it’s a perfect place to start before going to a few other pubs out and about.
"With the cost of living crisis, people still want to go out and have fun but not spend so much, so it's a good option."

In other Spoons news, the pub chain is slashing prices across all its boozers in September.
Meanwhile, the business recently axed plans to open half a dozen pubs in a blow for punters.
