Three tasty recipes to recreate posh burger sauce at home without breaking the bank
POSH restaurant-style burger sauce or mayo turns ordinary grub into something special.
You can recreate the experience at home by shelling out for branded condiments.
But it’s not too difficult to make your own versions with ingredients you probably already have. Here’s how . . .
NANDO’S PERINAISE: The restaurant chain’s spicy mayo is perfect with a chicken burger or crispy chicken salad, but it will set you back around £2.25 for a 265g bottle.
With a cheap salad cream, you can make near enough double the amount of sauce for less.
Use Aldi’s Bramwells salad cream, 99p for 520g, adding cayenne pepper, 85p at Aldi, to create the heat.

Start with just a pinch of pepper to one tablespoon of salad cream.
Slowly mix in more pepper to suit your preferred level of heat. Add a squeeze of lemon and grate a clove of garlic or a pinch of garlic powder for extra depth.
LEON BURGER SAUCE: Give your burger some oomph with Leon Love burger sauce. A 240ml jar is around £2.65.
Or mix up your own version using Aldi’s Bramwells tomato ketchup, 95p for 650g.

Mix three tablespoons of it with a tablespoon of mayonnaise, a teaspoon of mustard and a teaspoon of honey.
Chop a couple of sprigs of fresh dill and mix through. Grate a clove of garlic or add a teaspoon of garlic powder.
WAGAMAMA KATSU MAYO: A dollop of this sauce elevates sandwiches, or works as a delicious dip for fries.
A 240g jar will set you back around £2.25.
For a cheaper alternative, pick up a 99p bottle of Bramwells Real Mayonnaise, 500ml, from Aldi, instead.
Start with three tablespoons of the mayo and mix in two tablespoons of ketchup, one tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and one teaspoon of mustard.
Add a teaspoon of soy sauce — a bottle is 55p from Aldi. Then finish with a couple of squeezes of lemon.
