Six great ideas to create fun face paint looks for summer festivals
IT’S still the season for festivals and fetes – so let’s get the face paints out!
Fill up your crafts box and release that inner artist with these great ideas for creating fun looks.
TOOL STATION: There is a good selection of ACWOO face paints for kids, including two brushes and 16 colours costing £5.99 on Amazon.
Or try the Revolution Creator SFX palette, reduced from £6 to £2.50 at ASOS.
Sponges make application easy and there is a 24-pack at Poundland.
Glitter is a great addition to face painting but remember that a little goes a long way.
Get a 4g biodegradable pot at Festivalglitter.co.uk and use Vaseline to stick it on.
SNAKES ALIVE: Create an amazing snakeskin effect using a sponge and an old pair of fishnet tights.
Stretch over the sections of the face where you want the pattern and then sponge on different shades of green and blue over the top.
MASK BLAST: A lace eye mask leftover from a fancy dress party can also help create a great look.
Put it on and dab a sponge dipped in different face paints all over the mask.
When you remove it, you will be left with a stunning pattern that is perfect for festivals.
STENCIL IT IN: If you are not a natural artist, cheat using Snazaroo face paint stencils, reduced from £5 to £3.75 at Hobbycraft.
FLOWER POWER: Get a pointed brush and load it with white paint, then dip the tip in pink.
Press the brush on to the face to create one petal and add more to create a full flower. Then paint on tiny green leaves to finish.
ALL THE COLOURS: Rainbow face painting is simple. Just buy a multicoloured crayon stick for £2.49 at Amazon and swipe on.
Or, to print multiple rainbows, use a round sponge and paint on the colours in a crescent-type shape.
Press the sponge on to each cheek or your arms. Easy!
