How to find the perfect barista role
WAKE up and smell the coffee! Despite the ongoing cost of living crisis, Brits are still treating themselves to a daily cuppa.
According to analysts Mintel, the coffee shop market is currently worth £3.5bn a year, up from £3bn in 2021.
With more of us working from home and looking for affordable treats, coffee chains are continuing to expand and taking on more staff.
The sector currently has almost 5,000 live vacancies across the UK and can offer flexible work for a wide range of applicants.
If you’re ready to quit the daily grind for a coffee shop role, here’s how it could bean a much better option!
1. Flexibility
Coffee shops have some of the longest opening hours, many from 6am to 7pm, seven days a week.
Whatever shift pattern you need, you’ll be able to find a job to fit.
2. Career progress

If you have the right work ethic, it’s reasonably easy to work your way up as a barista, manager, regional manager then into top of the C-suite.
