Cadbury axes popular chocolate – and fans are devastated
CHOC fans are fuming after Cadbury scrapped individual sales of Buttons Treatsize packs.
The 14.4g party-bag favourites will only be available in multipacks from now on.
The 40g and 119g bags will remain for solo purchase in shops.
One angry dad has since stocked up on three-months’ worth of the mini packs for his autistic son.
He told The Sun: “That’s the only chocolate he will eat, so I buy it in bulk.
“I started to notice that I was struggling to find it via online retailers.

"I got in touch with Cadbury just to see if it was a temporary outage, as I was nervous it was going to be discontinued, and it was.
"I’ve been speaking to other parents and people with smaller kids are gutted because the larger size packs aren't appropriate for larger tots.”
A Cadbury spokesperson told the dad: “We’re sorry to advise that this product has been discontinued.
"Consumer tastes and trends do change over the years and our dedicated Research & Development Teams are always working hard to delight our consumers with a varied range with seasonal favourites and new exciting ideas.”
Last year, Mondelez - formerly Kraft - which bought Cadbury in 2010 launched Dairy Milk Mega Buttons.
They are around six times the size of an original choc button, launched in 1960, and were inspired by Milk Chocolate Drops.
Iconic adverts include one the 1980s, ‘Sing of a Song of Sixpence’ packs, featuring a king receiving a pie made of Buttons instead of blackbirds.
And, in the late 90s and early 2000s, a girl with Button-cutter legs played Kiss Chase in a series of Cadbury animations.
The gutted Dad, who asked not to be named, added: “It hurts because it’s been discontinued with not even a fanfare....but in a Wispa.”
Mondelez told The Sun: "We continuously adapt our product range to ensure it meets changing tastes whilst supporting growth for our customers and our business.
"Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons are available in a variety of pack sizes including 40g and 119g bags.
"Our Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Treatsize packs (14.4g) will no longer be as individual bags, but will continue to be available in multipack format and will also be part of our Christmas range.
"This enables us to focus on our most popular product ranges that consumers love the most and be even more flexible in meeting changing consumer demand."
