BEAN A WHILE

Shoppers are only just realising an iconic 90s discontinued food favourite is back – and they are loving it

SHOPPERS are only just realising a '90s classic is back on supermarket shelves.

The iconic Heinz Beanz Pizza returned exclusively to Iceland stores last November after disappearing for almost 20 years.

But its comeback appears to have been missed by many shoppers, who were shocked to see it being advertised at The Range.

There are Iceland branches inside 50 The Range stores across the UK.

A post about the pizza on The Range's Facebook page has received over 7,000 comments and 5,000 likes.

The '90s favourite has got adults reliving their childhood.

One shopper said: "They had these in the 90's and I loved them! So happy they are back."

A fellow shopper commented: "I used to love a baked bean pizza when I was a teen", while another said: "Takes me back. I loved these".

Not all customers were as impressed, however.

One shopper said: "I've never even heard of beans on a pizza - not going to lie, it doesn't look appetizing either".

The pizza costs £3.50 at Iceland, but it is part of a three for £10 mix and match offer.

The item was discontinued in 2003, but began reappearing in Iceland freezer aisles on November 14 last year.

At the same time, Heinz released a range of burgers, hash browns and frozen ready meals.

Among the new goods are hash browns filled with Heinz baked beans, as well as a range of vegan bean-filled burgers.

Earlier this week, McVities brought back its white chocolate digestive biscuits after almost 20 years off supermarket shelves.

They were last on shelves as a limited edition in 2005.

But they are now back in stock in Sainsbury's stores and will soon be sold at other supermarkets such as Co Op, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.
