But the auctioneer has warned potential buyers that they might get more than they bargained for.

BP Auctions said: "The property has not been inspected by BP Auctions.

"All information has been supplied by the vendor. The information provided should not be relied upon.

"The buyer/bidder is bidding on a sold-as-seen basis."

Unfortunately, the most any bidder will see of the property before it is sold is the front door.

No floorplan or interior shots of the three-bed house are available - so you have no real idea what you're getting into.

The only snap of the property included with the listing shows its two windows boarded-up and the paint peeling off its door and dirty brickwork.

In 2004 the home was sold for £16,000 - with its price only rising by £3,000 in the two decades since, despite rampant inflation in the housing market.

But with 1130Mb broadband and a train station only half a mile away, a brave bidder may land the bargain of a lifetime.

It all depends on what secrets lie inside the empty, boarded-up house at the end of the road.

It comes as a normal four-bed terraced home has gone on sale for under £150,000 - but there's a huge catch that could force you to get your wallet out.

Middlesbrough is one of the UK's 20 most affordable areas to buy a home - with house prices in another towns starting at £117,000.
