Wetherspoons reveals menu shake up as it brings back ‘amazing’ item – but there’s a catch

WETHERSPOONS has revealed a big menu shakeup with the return of an 'amazing' item - but there is a catch.

The pub chain is bringing back its popular Brunch Burger to all of its 800 locations across the UK and Ireland.

The burger will be available for Father's Day on Sunday, June 18 for one day and one day only though.

Customers could last find the burger on menus back in spring 2013 and it was a fan favourite at the time with punters calling it "amazing".

It's made up of a three ounce beef patty, American-style cheese, maple-cured bacon,  free-range fried egg and is topped with a hash brown.

It will be joining other burger variations including the Empire State Burger, the Halloumi Burger and of course the classic beef burger.

Punters can pick up the burger from £7.15 when purchased with chips and a soft drink.

These include Pepsi Max, Monster Energy, Sanpellegrino, R. White’s raspberry lemonade, or an orange juice.

If you fancy a pint with your burger you can also get it with chips and an alcoholic drink - including ale, draft and bottled lagers, spirits, wine and craft beers - from £8.55.

The burger with chips contains 1,234 calories.

However, prices for the new burger will vary from pub to pub so it's always best to check your local before paying.

You won't find the burger on print out menus or online but it will be available to order at the bar or on the Spoons app.

Wetherspoon’s senior food development manager, Matt Elsdon, said: “We are confident that our customers will welcome the return of the Brunch Burger for one day only to mark Father’s Day."

Fans of Wetherspoons' popular food menu will be no doubt be eager to try the new item.

The chain is regularly updating and introducing offers to its food and drinks menu, as well as making other changes to its pubs.

Earlier this month it introduced the crunchy chicken strip burger to its main meal offering.

Back in January, it extended the time you can order breakfast to 12pm - seven days a week.

Previously, you could get brekkie from 8am to 11.30am Monday through to Sunday so punters now have 30 extra minutes to order grub.

In October, last year the chain brought in eight new menu items including Katsu Curry and several pub classics.

And a change to the Wetherspoons drinks menu left punters divided.

Meanwhile, people are only just realising why Wetherspoons prices are so cheap – and it’s not because the beer is going out of date.

Plus, we reveal the full list of more Wetherspoons locations that could close for good - after dozens already closed their doors.
