You can use comparison tools on websites such as pricespy.co.uk and latestdeals.co.uk.

Tom said: "If it’s cheaper at Home Bargains, fantastic. If not, it’s worth saving your money."

Mrs Hinch cleaning products

Sophie Hinchcliffe shares tips on home cleaning with millions of Instagram followers through the mrshinchhome page.

Her recommendations are so well sought after you can now find her products in retailers across the UK.

Tom said the first thing on your shopping list if you're heading to your nearest Home Bargains should be her products.

He said: "These products are not only extremely popular, but they can often be found reduced.

"For example, I recently found the Mrs Hinch Fairy Max Power Washing Up Liquid reduced from £3.99 to £2.99 and lots of other products on offer."

Toys

Knowing where to go to buy your toys can be a logistical nightmare, but Tom said Home Bargains was one worthwhile choice.

The retailer sells everything from outdoor and sports toys to dolls and playsets.

Plus, it often runs sales events on these types of products.

Tom said: "During their Star Buys events, you can find amazing deals on toys.

“Recently I found they were selling water pistols for £3.99, water slides for £8.99, and archery sets for £8.99.

"These toys can make great gifts for kids and provide hours of entertainment during the summer months."

Party Decorations

You might not think it, but Home Bargains can be a great spot to pick up party decorations, especially for weddings.

You can buy everything from balloon sets to LED flashing cake domes.

Tom said: "You can find a range of decorations at very reasonable prices.

"For example, they have bride sashes for 99p, confetti for 99p, and cake stands for £1.69."

He added: "With prices like these, you can easily add some extra special touches to your wedding without breaking the bank."

What to avoid

DVDs, electronics or perfumes

You can pick up DVDs, electronics and perfumes from Home Bargains.

However, it's worth noting that if the seal has been broken, you can't return them.

Tom said: "You cannot return DVDs, electronics or perfumes where the seal or packaging has been opened as well as perishable goods like food, confectionery and drinks."
