SHOPPERS are rushing to buy a bargain Aldi kitchen gadget to help you make a DIY Mcdonald's for less.

The discount supermarket is launching a Breakfast Muffin Maker for £29.99 - and it will be available from Sunday (May 7).

Aldi says the gadget will help fast food fans recrate popular McDonald's McMuffins at home for just 75p per serving.

This is compared with £3.79 for a McDonald's sausage and egg McMuffin - a saving of just over £3.

Aldi says that after making eight muffins, the device will have paid for itself.

But it's important to remember that you'll only make a saving if you, or your family, buy McMuffin's from McDonald's on a regular basis.

Shoppers will just need to pick up the following items at Aldi if they're hoping to make the breakfast snack at home:

• Village Bakery White Toasting Muffins - 75p, four pack
• Everyday Essentials Cheesy Singles - 83p, 15 pack,
• Oakhurst Breakfast Pork Patties - £1.89, six pack
• Merevale British Free Range Medium Eggs - £1.29, six pack

This works out at 18p for a muffin, 5p for a cheese slice, 31p for a pork patty and 21p for an egg, adding up to 75p for one muffin.

Aldi describes the gadget as easy to use and prepares a muffin within minutes.

You just need to prepare your muffin, place it on the grill and lift when the light turns red.

The maker comes with non-stick plates made from lightweight materials.

This isn't the first time that Aldi has offered McDonald's fans a cheap dupe.

When the fast food chain scrapped its potato waffles, customers rush to Aldi to pick up the retailer's own version of the treats.

Shoppers can grab the 454g of frozen Four Seasons Mini Hash Brown Waffles for just 99p.

At McDonald's potato waffles cost £1.39.

One savvy saver took to social media to share an Aldi find that he claims tastes just the McDonald's McSpicy, which was added to menus in February.

The Roosters chicken thighs cost £2.45 on Aldi's website and you get two in a pack.

The extras to make the burger push the total cost to buy the Aldi ingredients is around £2.20 per burger.

The Maccies McSpicy costs £4.79 as a single item so you are saving around £2.40 by going with the Aldi dupe.

How can I save money at Aldi?

If the Aldi dupe isn't enough to tempt you but you still want to save money next time you're in your nearest branch, we've got some tips.

Supermarkets often put products in areas where they know customers will be tempted to grab something, like the tills.

But if you make a list before heading out for your shop, you're less likely to be enticed in.

You can try looking out for red stickers too - Aldi workers put these on products that have been reduced to clear, either because they about to go out of date or the packaging is damaged.

Tom Church, co-founder of Latest Deals, said it's worth shopping on a Wednesday too.

This is when it drops prices and shoppers can often be found rushing to their nearest branch to get an early morning bargain.

You can save on "fakeaways" too - Aldi doesn't just sell McSpicy dupes.

Some stores sell the Big Stack too, Aldi's own version of the Big Mac.
