The "Make and Take" events are taking place on Saturday April 8, between 2pm and 4pm, at 75 select The Entertainer stores.

The Easter event is open to Lego lovers both big and small as long as stocks last.

Parents are advised to get to their local store as close to 2pm as possible to avoid disappointment.

Craig Lowe, events coordinator at The Entertainer, said: "Lego is renowned for promoting make-believe play and creative adventures for children around the world, so we’re delighted to be giving Lego fans the chance to take part in this egg-citing event in 75 of our stores this Easter."

The event is set to help parents trying to entertain children over the Easter holidays without splashing out during the cost of living crisis.

Families looking for low-cost fun this Easter can also head to Ikea.

The Swedish superstore is laying on free Easter egg hunts across stores, as well as face painting for little ones without charge.

Other events include colouring and free food sampling.

Check your local store on the Ikea website for details and timings.

At the same time, Smyths Toys is hosting Easter parties across stores from 9am on Saturday April 8.

During the event, kids will be able to get free Easter-themed goodies from Lego and Disney Mini Brands.

Attendees also stand a chance to win a free 10-foot trampoline when they fill out their details at the party.
