Shoppers rush to buy ‘bargain’ air fryer scanning at tills with £130 discount – and it fits a whole chicken
SHOPPERS have spotted a huge air fryer that fits a whole chicken for £130 less than usual.
The massive 12L fryer – from Robert Dyas – now costs £90 down from £230. That’s a huge £130 discount.
Air fryer fans have noticed a gigantic model with an adjustable thermostat ranging from 80-200°C, a removable drip tray and a 90-minute timer.
One fan shared the bargain to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, captioning it: “Used it tonight for the first time and it was so easy to use. A bargain if anyone is need of one- from Robert Dyas website and delivery was within 3 days of ordering.”
Others were quick to reply with one saying: “I have had this one since last summer and use it daily. Love it.”
Another praised: “I got this few weeks ago for £89!!! It’s bloody fantastic”
And a third raved: “I have that one – barely used my cooker in well over a year.”
Remember to always factor in delivery costs when purchasing online – there’s free standard delivery for orders over £50 from Robert Dyas, so you shouldn’t need to worry on the occasion, but you’ll be set back another £4.95 otherwise.
And make sure to only buy it if you’re after an air fryer – if not, you’re not saving money.
Make sure to shop around elsewhere too. You might find better deals from other shops.
Do use sites like Google Shopping or the Latest Deals app to help compare prices with other retailers.
For example we saw shoppers buying a four-litre Tower air fryer for £10 instead of a whopping £199.
However, the deal is only available at an independent department store called Atkinsons in Sheffield, so you’ll need to be in the region.
Elsewhere, Costco is selling a dual basket air fryer for £79.99. That’s nearly £20 less than its original price of £95.98.
And we also found a Salter EK2817H 2L air fryer for £39 from B&Q. It uses 1,000W and has a 30-minute timer.
How much does it cost to run an air fryer?
It’s all very well finding a cheap price tag but make sure you know how much air fryers cost to run too.
Keep in mind it depends on how often you use it, which model you use and who your energy supplier is, but we have rough estimates for you.
The power of an air fryer is measured in watts, and this determines how much energy it uses – and the cost of using it.
But the more powerful the appliance, the quicker it will cook your food too.
A 1,000W air fryer costs just 17p to run for 30 minutes and 34p to run for an hour.
While a 1,500W air fryer will set you back 26p for half an hour, and 51p for an hour’s use.
You shouldn’t always assume that your new gadget is going to save you money as well as calories. But sometimes it might help.
