Six ways to revive your towels and given them a hotel-style luxury feeling
WANT to add some hotel-style luxury to everyday life?
One easy way is to make sure you always have soft bedding and piles of fluffy towels.
But instead of buying them new, revive yours with these handy tricks for a touch of luxe.
CUT IT OUT: Fabric softener builds up in towels and can make them less absorbent.
Cut back on this and instead use a cup of white vinegar in your washing cycle to strip out the excess softener build-up for fluffier towels.
GO LOW: Wash your towels and bedding on a lower temperature and dry them on a reduced heat setting. The higher it is, the more likely they will become stiff or feel scratchy.

If towels already feel a bit tough, try a cool wash.
USE LESS: Avoid putting in as much standard laundry detergent in your main wash, as again this can cause build-up in the fabric.
Reducing the amount also means your laundry liquid or powder will go further this month.
DOWN LOAD: If you are overfilling the washing drum, your bedding and towels do not have room to move about and get properly clean.
Try to make sure you leave a gap at the top of the drum when you are starting your cycle.
GET OUTSIDE: Fresh-air drying obviously saves on the running costs of a tumble dryer and the lack of intense heat should help your sheets and towels stay softer for longer.
BE A BALLER: If you can’t hang the towels outside, using a dryer ball will help cut costs by reducing drying time.
They also can soften items by almost massaging the fabric throughout the cycle.
