FANTA has launched a new flavour in time for summer - but shoppers have been left divided over the new drink.

The Coca-Cola-owned brand has unveiled Fanta Zero Watermelon.

The product comes in 500ml and 2litre bottles and as an 8x330ml can multi-pack.

Shoppers can buy the drinks at Tesco and smaller retailers including One Stop, Budgens and Londis.

It's the first time you can buy the fruit flavour drink here in the UK.

Previously it was only available in Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands.

It comes after Fanta launched the Raspberry Zero Sugar flavour in 2020 and Fanta Zero Strawberry and Kiwi in 2022.

One Tesco customer posted on the sharing a photo of the new drink.

One person commented on the post: "Looks delicious," while another said: "Ooooh I loveee anything watermelon flavoured..will go find this."

A third shopper simply added: "Need to try this."

But some consumers don't seem so keen on the new flavour.

One person said on Facebook: "It's the least watermelon flavoured thing I've ever tasted."

While another person added: "It's horrid tastes okay to start with but has a nasty aftertaste."

The 500ml bottle is available to buy as part of the Tesco meal deal, or can be bought separately for £1.60.

It's the same price as the other 500ml sizes, including Fanta Lemon, Fanta Orange zero and Fanta Fruit Twist.

But that's based on online prices, so you might have to pay more if you go to a Tesco Extra.

We've approached Tesco to find out how much the 2litre bottle and 8x330ml cans cost and will update this story when we have heard back.

Prices for the drink are set by individual retailers, so make sure to check before you buy.

It comes just weeks after Lilt was axed to be relaunched under a new name - Fanta Pineapple and Grapefruit.

The flavour is said to have "the same totally tropical taste" as Lilt but that didn't stop fans taking to Twitter to share their disappointment.
