I won a share of mega £53,413 lottery prize but never paid a penny for a ticket – here’s how

A LUCKY lotto player bagged herself a huge chunk of the £53,413 draw and she didn't pay a penny for the ticket.

Sarah Kendell had been checking every day for six years to see if she'd won a fortune - until now.

The 47-year-old won her whopping £1,200 after entering the Pick My Postcode lottery, which includes six different draws.

There is an additional £5 flash draw with 17 chances to win every day - and members are entered for free.

Sarah was asked what she would splash the cash on, she said: “A lot, going to go towards our badly needed garden makeover.

“Believe it, I had been playing for a few years and won nothing, but I kept playing and it finally happened!”

She also bagged herself an extra £63.85 worth of bonuses.

The 'Bonus' on Pick My Postcode is a pile of money which builds up every time you visit the site and for Sarah - who checked her numbers everyday - quite the total had built up.

She told the : “I would have loved to have donated my winnings to one or more local charities but unfortunately, in the current economic climate I would like to keep some money for myself and my grown-up family, three beautiful adult daughters.

“However, as things stand, a chunk will be put towards my necessary new windows, some will go to my daughters and I will support two local charities.

“If there is any left, I might consider turning the central heating above 15C for a week or two in the depths of the coming winter.”

In Nottingham, another lucky winner, Sylvia Ross, raked in £814.02.

But the 60-year-old housewife has chosen to be sensible with her prize, using it for Christmas expenses and household bills.

She said: "I was in total shock when my postcode came up, couldn’t quite take it in. But very pleased when it did finally sink in.

"Winning this money will help with Christmas and paying general bills. To everyone else, I would just say keep checking because the next draw could be you."
