NANDO'S has made a major change to its menu and spice fans will love it.

The flame-grilled chicken chain has started bringing back its hottest sauce for a limited time only.

Dubbed Vusa XX Hot, the sauce gets its name from the Zulu word Vusa, which means "excitement and fire".

The new sauce means that peri-peri fans can get their fiery hit once again after a seven-month hiatus.

The sauce is so hot that the chain has released a tongue-in-cheek waiver.

It says: "I certify I’m fully aware it’s fiery, fierce and has earned its rightful place at the top of the PERi-ometer.

"I’ll enjoy the legendary taste, hot sweats and bragging rights - because every mouthful’s a madness.

"After consideration, I waive my rights to complain about any spicy side effects, including but not limited to, streaming eyes and panting in front of my mates (or date).

"As a safety precaution, I confirm I know where to find the Bottomless Froyo machine."

The new sauce became available in restaurants on January 4 - but it's only here for a limited time only.

We've asked Nando's how long Vusa XX Hot will be on the menu and update this article once we know more.

It comes as the restaurant chain introduced a number of new plant-based menu options as part of its "veganuary" campaign.

The menu additions include a spiced chickpea burger, wrap and pitta.

All additions are served with chickpeas and spinach and are garnished with hummus, pickled onions, red pepper chutney and lettuce.

Nando's now has over 900 restaurants across the world, and the new additions will be available at branches nationwide.

Since October, diners have no longer been able to get free refills of classic Coca-Cola through its popular bottomless drink option.

Nando’s has also been slammed for ditching free Peri-Peri sauces from its takeaway delivery orders.

How can I save money at Nando's?

From ordering family platters to coming prepared with gift cards, you can keep more of your well-earned cash in your pocket at the restaurant.

If you are a Costco member, you can buy £40 worth of gift cards for £34.99 to use at Nando's - which means you're saving yourself just over £5.

Ordering a platter can help you to save £10.

The Family Platter at Nando's costs £46.50 and feeds up to six people, including two whole chickens and five large sides.

Budget buster Charlotte Jessop, who runs the money-saving blog , says she saves £10.45 doing this instead of ordering individual meals for her and her family.

Tubs of "Perinaise"  will set you back 65p at the restaurant - and as it's likely that you'll order at least two, the extra cost all adds up.

But you can avoid forking out extra by making your own version in the restaurant.
