Savvy eBay sellers are flogging them online for around £10 for the pair.

A quick search of sold Mary Rose and King James Bible coins on the auction website shows that they tend to be sold together, usually with £1 to £2 delivery charge.

Both designs were released by the Royal Mint in 2011 in limited batches of 20,000 each.

They were made to mark the 500th anniversary of the Mary Rose and the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.

But it's not just these £2 coins that are making a mint online - other rare coins are up for sale for thousands on the internet.

There are currently a rare batch of 2p coins fetching a whopping £1,500 on auction sites.

eBay seller 'halstrawill' from Ayr,  recently sold eight of the £2 coins (four of each) for £37. He told The Sun: "It started when I found a Kew Gardens 50p one day.

"A family member used to be a cashier in a supermarket and would have to go to the bank and get change for the tills.

"They would look for valuable coins in the pile of new ones. If they found £5 worth, they would replace the £5 with their own money.

"Nothing dodgy."
