DECEMBER 25 is fast approaching and that means one thing - Christmas-themed sandwiches.

Supermarkets and coffee shops often release sarnies with a festive twist in November and December.

They'll usually add a few extra items to shelves or menus including drinks and snacks as well.

Plus, supermarkets and retailers are known for releasing Christmas adverts to tug on your heart strings and get you in the festive spirit.

Aldi

The German retailer has brought back a number of its popular Christmas sandwiches this year.

That includes the turkey feast sandwich for £1.99 and coming in at 511 calories and the turkey feast wrap for £2.19 and packing 489 calories

There's some new additions as well including a turkey and trimmings toastie for £1.75 containing 494 calories and a pigs under cheesy blankets sub roll for £2.49, packing 661 calories.

You can get the sandwiches online and in-store. To find your nearest store you can use Aldi's store locator on its website.

Caffè Nero

The coffee chain has already unveiled its Christmas menu and it features eight new items, including two new sandwiches.

First up there's the turkey feast focaccia, which costs £5.25 and comes in at 512 calories.

Then there's the smoked vegan festive feast, costing from £4.85 and coming in a 497 calories.

Some classics are making a return as well, including the pigs in blankets tostati, from £4.50 and packing 520 calories.

Plus, there's the brie, bacon and cranberry panini selling for £4.85 and coming in at 509 calories.

You can get the sandwiches in one of Nero's 650 UK stores or coffee fans can order online via Just Eat and Uber Eats.

Costa

Sun reporter Lucy Alderson managed to get a try of Costa's new Christmas range, which features a number of festive sarnies.

There's a new one on offer as well - the brie and cranberry toastie which costs from £3.45.

If you fancy matching it up with some crisps, there's new maple glazed pigs in blankets flavoured potato chips as well.

Plus, the vegan p'gs and blankets panini is back for £4.75.

If the sandwiches tickle your fancy, you can get one across Costa's 2,700 UK stores or order on the app.

Boots

The Boots festive menu is back and includes six different sandwiches.

They can all be bought from £2.75 or as part of a meal deal from £3.60.

The sarnies include a brie and cranberry for £2.75, turkey feast for £3.15 and a Shaper turkey, cranberry and stuffing for £3.

The range is available across Boots' more than 750 stores.

Tesco

Tesco's Christmas sarnies have been on sale since October 24 at stores nationwide.

There's some returning classics, including the turkey and trimmings sandwich for £3, the smoked ham and wensleydale one for £2.75 and a yule hog wrap for £2.75.

There's some new arrivals as well, including a Finest smoked turkey club sandwich for £3.25, a plant chef no beef wellington wrap for £2.75 and a gluten free turkey and stuffing sandwich for £3.

Morrisons

Morrisons has a range of new sarnies on offer this year including the Boxing Day curry flavourCredit: MORRISONS

Morrisons has launched its Christmas sandwich range and there's some newbies up for grabs as well.

First up there's the Boxing Day curry wrap for £2.75, then a pigs under blankets sarnie for £2.75 and a vegan feast sandwich for £2.75.

Plus, you can get a Christmas festive baguette for £2.50 and even a cheeseboard sandwich for £2.75.

All the sandwiches, which are included in the £3.50 meal deal, are available in-store now.

Starbucks

Starbucks has brought back its festive feast panini for £4.89, the brie and cran-merry Focaccia at £4.89 and the 'tis the season turkey sandwich for £4.19.

Plus there's the new pigs under blanket roll for £4.89.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is already stocking its Christmas sandwiches for this year

Sainsbury's shoppers can get hold of a range of Christmas sarnies this year.

There's the Taste the Difference festive hot smoked salmon sandwich on sale for £4.25, and the vegan Boxing Day wrap retailing at £2.95.

Plus there's a plant-based option - the Plant Pioneers no pigs under blankets sandwich for £2.95.

We've also approached Pret a Manger, Waitrose, M&S, Greggs, Asda and Lidl to see if they've released their Christmas sandwiches yet and will update this story when we know more.

Last year, Pret started selling its Christmas sandwiches in July for those who had missed out on it the year before due to lockdown restrictions.

Waitrose released its range in November while Greggs unveiled its sarnies in the same month.

Asda announced its Christmas sandwiches in summer last year and they were on shelves within months.
