MoneySuperMarket is making a major change – and it could save you money
MONEYSUPERMARKET is making a major change which could save you money.
The comparison site is launching a price match guarantee service that will reward customers with money back and free vouchers.
The new price match guarantee dubbed the "Super Save Price Promise" will cover car and home insurance quotes.
So if you were to purchase a car or home insurance policy through MoneySuperMarket and then find a cheaper like-for-like quote from the same provider on the same day, you’ll be refunded the price difference.
Customers will also be rewarded with a £20 gift card from a host of retailers.
Customers will be able to choose which voucher they would like from a list of suppliers.

The site will let customers pick between a £20 Amazon, Argos, Just Eat or Sainsbury's voucher.
Lis Blair, chief marketing officer at MoneySuperMarket, said: "Our new Super Save Price Promise means that when you buy your car or home insurance through MoneySuperMarket, you can share our confidence that you’re getting the best value possible.
"If not, we’ll refund the difference and more."
Other price comparison websites reward customers in other ways.
For example, Confused.com guarantees that its customers beat their renewal if they take out car, home or van insurance through their site.
If it doesn't beat the customer's renewal quote, the firm will pay the difference and dish out an extra £20 in cash on top.
How does the MoneySuperMarket price match policy work?
To be able to take advantage of the Super Save Price Promise, customers will need to follow a number of important steps.
They will need to first buy a car or home insurance policy through the website.
If the same customer then finds a cheaper like-for-like quote on the same day, with the same details and benefits, they could be eligible for money back.
Customers will need to upload a screenshot of the cheaper like-for-like quote and proof of purchase using a claim form on the MoneySuperMarket website.
If the claim is successful, the firm will refund the policy cost difference and give customers a choice of a £20 gift card.
Millions could save by switching insurers
Homeowners and drivers are missing out on big savings on insurance when they renew.
Switchers can still save an average of £140 on car cover and up to £29 on home insurance, according to the comparison site Compare The Market.
When looking for a new quote, it's important to shop around.
If the price of your insurance rises, it is always worth seeing what offers are on the market elsewhere.
And don't forget the art of haggling. If you find a cheaper price elsewhere, call your current provider to see if they will match it – or even beat it.

Even if there are no cheaper alternatives on the market, you might still get a better price by calling your provider to negotiate.
