Three cost-saving tips to breathe fresh life into your old clothes
CLOTHES that used to be white but have greyed can look tired and old.
But don’t just throw them out. Instead, get the most out of your wardrobe by breathing fresh life into them.

BRIGHT WHITE: If you want to restore whites to their former brilliance, soak with a dose of Vanish Oxi Action powder and also add a scoop to the wash. A 1kg tub is £4.88 from Rangeplus.com.
A more natural method is to add half a cup of distilled white vinegar to a wash.
If there are no logos or any other colours on the garment, you can try soaking it in laundry bleach such as Ace for Whites, £1.40 at Wilko, and further adding to the wash.

Dry clothes in direct sunlight, which is especially good for removing any food stains and also works a treat on stubborn baby poo marks.
COLOUR CHANGE: For stains that do not budge, or severe discolouration, give your clothes a makeover with a new colour.
Hand dye is cheaper than solu-tions you pop in the washing machine.
Wilko sells Dylon hand dye for £3.25 and you will also need 250g of salt to use with this method.

TO DYE FOR: Tie-dye is easy, fun and bang on trend, making it the perfect solution for those whites that are in need of revival.
Many stores sell complete kits, with everything you need and instructions to revamp your clothing.
Asda’s tie-dye kit is down to £4.50 from £5, and comes with five colours and enough dye for several items.
Feel nervous? Start small and build up confidence with old white socks, before turning T-shirts, hoodies and even white jeans into funky new fashion items.
