Maltesers launch new dark chocolate version after fans ‘have been asking for years’

A DARK chocolate version of Maltesers will be launched this month.

Maker Mars made the announcement yesterday.

It said it was “about time” it made the innovation as “fans have been requesting us to bring out this flavour for years.”

Leah Dyckes, from Maltesers, said the new version would be in the shops from June 20.

She added: “We can’t wait for everyone to taste the new product.”

It is the first innovation made to the treat for almost a decade.

Almost 190million bags of Maltesers are sold each year.

Past versions have included mint, orange and white chocolate.

Its tagline is "the lighter way to enjoy chocolate".
