Major change coming to KFC – and it could mean you get your delivery even quicker
A MAJOR change is coming to KFC, and it could mean you get your fast-food on your doorstep even quicker.
It's because KFC is trialling its first delivery-only kitchens.
That means customers won't be able to pull up a chair inside the branch and tuck into their take-away on-site.
Instead, they'll order from the comfort of their own home, and won't even need to step foot inside a branch to get their chicken fix.
Sometimes they're called virtual kitchens, as hungry customers will place their order online without having any face-time with the restaurant itself at all.
In this instance for example, KFC has confirmed that fans will be able to order their tasty fried chicken treats through Deliveroo, JustEat, UberEats, or via its own website and app.

The first kitchen has already opened in London, meaning fans in the city get the first taste of the delivery only style the chain is looking to adopt.
The fast-food giant has said the move is to take pressure off existing restaurants and "improve the experience" for staff and consumers.
Without having to wait for the to be processed at the same time as deliveries, you could get your food quicker to your home address.
The only downside is that the delivery-only experience means no way to avoid extra charges.

Fans will have to fork out for extra deliveries fees on top of their order to get the food delivered to their door.
These can vary depending on where you place your place your order from, as well as how far you are from the branch you're ordering from.
Make sure you check before you check out so you don't go over budget though - you could always avoid the extra fees by collecting from another branch for example.
The trial is only small for now, but with any success KFC could introduce more of the delivery-only kitchens.
The chain has said that further trials are expected to be phased-in gradually over the rest of the year.
James Whitehorn, chief development officer at KFC said: “We’re excited by the potential of our delivery only kitchens.
"They ensure our fans get their fried chicken fix in good time whilst also creating more jobs and improving the experiences of KFC team members and delivery drivers.
"This launch presents an opportunity for us to reach more people than ever and let them enjoy KFC’s delicious fried chicken in their own homes."
It doesn't spell the end of the dining experience for KFC fans though - the chain only recently opened its 1,000th restaurant in the UK.

It's also added a new coronation chicken tower burger to its menu, in time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
And if you are a major fan of the chicken chain, you might even be able to bag yourself a FREE side when you check out ordering from the new branch.
