THE dawning of a new year is the perfect time for a restorative getaway, but seasonal operating hours could mean you need to fill up your tank in advance.
Here we take a look at the opening hours different petrol stations are offering on New Year's Day.

Sainsbury's petrol stations
All of Sainsbury's filling stations will be open on New Year's Day.
They will open half an hour before the supermarket and close 30 minutes after, meaning you can fill up between 7.30am and 8.30pm.

Morrisons petrol stations
Morrisons will keep their petrol stations open on New year's Day.

Opening times vary depending on location, but the majority are operating between the hours of 9am and 6pm.

Tesco petrol stations
Tesco's petrol stations will remain in operation on January 1, 2025.
You can fill your tank at Tesco Superstores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland from 8am to 6pm, and 11am to 6pm in Scotland.

Most of Asda's petrol stations have a pay-at-the-pump service.
This means that drivers will be able to fill up at most Asda stations every day of the year.
However, many Asda stores will have reduced hours on New Year's Day.
Shell petrol stations
Most Shell-owned service stations remain open over the whole of the festive period.
And New Year's Day is no exception.
Shell petrol stations are expected to operate their normal opening hours on January 1, 2025.

Esso petrol stations
Esso have confirmed that their petrol stations will remain open on New Year's Day.
However, some of their in-store facilities will be affected by differing opening times.
These facilities include toilets and food & drink services.

BP petrol stations
BP filling stations' opening times are not due to change for the New Year.
