Although they will be able to lease the cabin for the next 36 years at least, they will not own the sand dune that it stands on as it is National Trust property.

Estate agents say the simple timber structure boasts one of the best locations in the North East on the sands at Newton-by-the-Sea.

It is a very popular sailing and windsurfing spot, in Northumberland.

The hut overlooks the long stretch of golden sand in the Embleton Bay coastal area of outstanding natural beauty.

It also has the dramatic ruins of the 14th-century Dunstanburgh Castle as a backdrop.

For nature lovers it's a dream come true as the beach and dunes are habitat to a wealth of wildlife while seals.

The hut measures a snug 9ft by 15ft, includes a nearby parking spot, and is within walking distance of a local pub.

The property is being sold as a lease-hold, as the sand is owned by the National Trust and there are 36 years of the 50 remaining.

Alnwick based estate agent John F White said: "It's an ideal spot to get away from it all with the miles of sandy beaches.

"You also have the beautiful village of Newton-by-the-Sea and popular pubs The Joiners Arms and The Ship Inn nearby."
