Brits reveal FIRST thing they’d buy if they won EuroMillions jackpot – with some saying they’d GAMBLE the money

BRITS have revealed the first thing they’d buy if they won the EuroMillions – with some claiming they’d immediately gamble the cash.

Many of those surveyed picked holidays and home upgrades, and more than a quarter said they’d want to splash the cash on a new car first.

But one per cent of the 5,000 people polled say they’d head straight to a bookies or into a casino and try to improve on their win.

Joe and Jess Thwaite, who claimed Britain’s biggest-ever jackpot earlier this month, have decided to spend some of their £184million fortune on a trip around the world.

The Gloucestershire couple will take their two children on the globe-trotting trip that will take in Hawaii and Texas.

The pair also hope to buy a seven-bed home, with 6.5 acres of land, a tennis court, a swimming pool and a stable block, near pretty Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucs.

But not all of those quizzed by TopRatedCasinos think they’ve made the right decision.

While 17 per cent would travel, 16 per cent would prefer to invest in property, and eight per cent would immediately pay off their debts.

Some six per cent would spent money on luxury fashion, with an altruistic five per cent handing over cash to charity.

And four per cent would visit Harley Street for some cosmetic surgery as they celebrate their win with a lift and tuck.

Options in the ‘other’ category included buying a plane, shelling out for a winery and putting a bid in for a remote island.

People from Aberdeen were most likely to spend their winnings on a new car, while Londoners want to travel most.

Those living in the capital are also more likely to spend cash on property, followed by York residents.

However, those who do yearn for a Lotto win should be careful what they wish for.

Some of Britain’s biggest winners have suffered heartbreak along the way as a result of the so-called ‘lottery curse’.

Colin and Chris Weir won £161m in 2011 – spending a fortune on property, but also donating a huge amount to their charity.

Sadly, in April 2019, the pair announced they were divorcing. They had been married for 38 years and shared two grown-up children, Carly and Jamie.

Meanwhile Gillian suffered woes of her own in 2016 as her father publicly blasted her, saying he “only received £1m” from his daughter despite her claims she gave him £20m.

In August 2018, Gillian married convicted fraudster Brian Deans.

And she was hauled into court in 2019 after being accused of attacking an ex lover, Gavin Innes, in 2017.
