Morrisons makes a big change to click and collect and shoppers will be pleased

MORRISONS shoppers can now grab a click and collect slot for less as the grocer has slashed its minimum spend requirement.

Until May 16, you couldn't place a click and collect order if your basket was under £40.

But now, baskets only have to be worth £25 to qualify for a click and collect slot, which better suits smaller shops.

This means customers won't have to rack up an extra £15 worth of items just to be able to book a slot.

Even though the minimum spend has dropped, the same rules apply.

If your basket doesn't come to a total of at least £25, you won't be able to secure a click and collect order at all.

There are 497 Morrisons branches in the UK, many of which offer click and collect deliveries - but not all do.

To find out whether your nearest store offers this service, visit , go to the branch locator, and choose the click and collect tab.

Then simply pop your postcode into the search box and you'll be given a list of the nearest stores that provide click and collect.

Apart from the minimum spend, its free to order through click and collect with Morrisons.

Some supermarkets have a minimum spend as well as a fee for collection, like Tesco, which charges customers £1.50 to place a click and collect order.

If you want to place a delivery home with Morrisons, you should expect to pay anything between £2 and £6 for a slot.

Though the supermarket offers customers a Morrisons Delivery Pass which you can pay monthly, bi-annually, or annually.

If you shop at Morrisons often enough, its delivery pass can save you money.

Monthly passes start from £5, bi-annual passes from £20, and annual passed from £35.

Morrisons estimates you can save up to £167 a year on delivery with an annual pass.

Morrisons has fluctuated its minimum spend charge for click and collect over the past couple of years.

When the store upped it to £40 in 2020, the decision received backlash from loyal customers.

One person took to Twitter to express their outrage at the supermarket for upping prices.

They said: "You can't buy a normal minimum £25 click and collect order from Morrisons anymore.

"Minimum order are raised to £40 in flagrant profiteering move. Back to Lidl then!"

Then in 2021, the grocer giant dropped prices down to £25, with one customer commenting: "Morrisons has reduced the minimum order amount for click and collect to £25 which is really useful for a top up shop.

"I often need a few basics in between main orders but I can't go in the actual shop because of queue."

As with previous years, there's a chance Morrisons may up the minimum spend to £40 in the future.

We have asked Morrisons how long shoppers can expect the minimum charge to stay at £25 for, and we will update this article when we hear back from them.

But shoppers wanting to do a few small top ups without having to go to the store should make the most of this price cut while it lasts.
