THIS stunning four-bedroom house which featured on Grand Designs is currently on the market for just £750,000 – but there is a snag.

For your money you get the detached home and a Grade II listed former Engine House and around 3.7 acres of land.

With the home set on the edge of the Tamar Valley, Cornwall, an area of outstanding natural beauty, it may sound idyllic but the property still needs finishing.

The former silver mine, in Harrowbarrow, near Callington, first appeared on the Channel 4 TV show, fronted by Kevin McCloud, in 2011 - but it's not yet finished.

The main home stretches over four floors with the entrance hall and kitchen/family room situated on the ground floor along with a shower room and bedroom.

On the first floor there is another bedroom and bathroom while the next floor contains the sitting room.

The master bedroom with an en-suite shower room is located on the third floor.

In the basement there’s yet another bedroom and another en-suite shower room.

Adjacent to the property is the Engine House which has planning permission for conversion to a holiday let along with permission for a detached garage and timber constructed cabin set in the grounds.

The property is set in nearly 4 acres of land which contain a garden area and a paddock.

When the property appeared on Grand Designs it was owned by stonemason Adam Purchase and his partner Nicola Brennan.

The couple had a 12-month limit to complete the renovation but had only borrowed £100,000 from the bank.

They ran out of money and missed the deadline for completion but continued to work on the home when they had time in between their day jobs.

At the time, Kevin said: “The exterior is a testament to Adam’s skill and dedication.”

But later added: “Adam and Nicola are a long way from moving in. It may not be finished but it is tantalisingly close.”
