Aldi recalls popular lunch item over salmonella fears
SHOPPERS are being urged to return two popular lunch items to Aldi stores amid fears of Salmonella.
The discount supermarket has issued the product recall for two of its wraps - and warned customers not to eat them
The affected items are Aldi's Eat + Go Chicken & Bacon Caesar Wrap and the Eat + Go Chicken & Bacon Caesar Wrap Triple.
But the recall only refers to particular batches of the wrap.
Products dated for use by 11 and 12 May 2022 are affected, Aldi said.
It said customers should return the items and will be given a full refund.

What is salmonella?
Salmonella is a bacterial infection usually caused by eating raw or undercooked meat. It can cause serious food poisoning with symptoms including stomach cramps, diarrhoea, a fever and vomiting.
With tens of millions of cases reported globally every year, it’s the most common food-related illness in the US.
The list of Aldi’s affected products is below:

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation,” said Aldi.
If you’ve bought one of the products above, you should return it to your nearest store and ask for a refund.
It’s not the first time in recent weeks that recalls have been issued over salmonella worries.
In February, Tesco and Waitrose were forced to recall products over worries about the bacteria.
And batches of pork scratchings were recalled in the same month by The Snaffling Pig Co.
