THERE aren't many things more disappointing than discovering that your favourite treat has been taken off the shelves.

Have Milky Way Crispy Rolls been discontinued?

Old chocolate bars can bring a delicious wave of nostalgia - but what happens when your favourite sugary staple suddenly gets discontinued.

If there's an extinct chocolate bar that you're missing, you're not alone.

Chocoficionados are devastated at suggestions that Milky Way Crispy Rolls may now have joined them on the great supermarket aisle in the sky.

In response to the rumours, a spokesperson for Mars Wrigley UK told The Sun: "While Milky Way Crispy Rolls are currently in a galaxy far, far away we’re pleased to offer many delicious alternatives such as Milky Way Magic Stars, Maltesers, Mars and of course, the traditional Milky Way.

"The love for Milky Way Crispy Rolls has been out of this world and we’ve certainly taken note!” 

The product seems to have disappeared from supermarket shelves.

Spokespeople for B&M and the Co-Op told the Sun that they no longer stock them.

Poundland, who are also thought to have been among the few stores that were selling Crispy Rolls also said they aren't stocking it.

At Poundland, 5 x 25g packs were previously available for £1.

They are not available online at a range of supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsbury's.

Fans have been vocal about their love for them on social media, and have pushed for them to be restored to stores.

A has over 1,500 signatures.

One user commented: "I love Crispy Rolls. Mars already ruined my childhood by discontinuing Mars Planets, I implore them not to do it again with Crispy Rolls."

Twitter users have also voiced their displeasure at rumours of the product has been discontinued.

One asked: "How have they discontinued milky way crispy rolls yet bountys are still knocking about[?]"

While another said: "Just found out Milkybar crispy rolls have been discontinued. I am both confused and saddened."

Who makes Milky Way Crispy Rolls?

The delicious treats are made by Mars Inc.

The confectioner is well known for producing various iconic sweets.

It's roster includes: Mars bars, Snickers, Skittles and various other tuck shop favourites.

The Sun has contacted Mars to ask for confirmation about whether Milky Way Crispy Rolls have been discontinued and we'll update this story when we hear back.

The rolls features a biscuit wafer with a whipped Milky Way filling.

In 2017, UK chocolate fans discovered that a miniature version has been added to boxes of Celebrations - but that Brits would miss out.

Photos on social media showing Crispy Rolls on the box appeared to be from US or German boxes and it was confirmed that the chocolates included would be different for UK customers.

The original Milky Way bar is made of nougat and is covered with milk chocolate.
